Driving with Sun Glare: How to deal with Sun Glare

Driving with Sun Glare

Driving with sun glare can be one of the most annoying things on the road to deal with but this problem can be easily solved or at least minimized to a point where you can deal with it. Sun glare can be very problematic for many drivers and is often most prominent at the busiest driving times of the day.

Anybody who has driven in rush hour traffic after work should know what I am talking about here. After a long day of work when you mind is already tired, you need to be very alert in order to keep up with the start and stop traffic.

Here are some helpful Tips

Many people rely on the built in car visor or a cheap visor attachment to stop the glare. As we at Glare Guard preach throughout our website, these methods take away TOO MUCH of the light & your vision. Many of the visor attachments are cloudy and cause you to see the road in a distorted manor. Always do your best to keep a safe distance from the cars in front of you and behind you.

The sun glare you get off of other vehicles on the road can distract you and cause a delay in your reaction time. This is very problematic if you are too close to other cars on the road. Also, be sure to keep your car in control. By driving too fast, you limit how quickly you can react if something goes wrong. This is not only the case with sun glare, but with driving in general. If you keep your car in control, you are decreasing your chances of problems down the road.

What to do

The best way to protect your eyes from harmful rays but allow in the light that you need is a set of polarized sunglasses. Brands such as Oakley, Ray Ban or Maui Jim all manufacture high quality polarized sunglasses that will do the trick. The only problem with these fantastic sunglasses is the price point. When looking for a good pair of sunglasses you really do get what you pay for.

Many of these sunglasses are well over $100 and can even get over $300.   Polarization Tip: To tell quality take pair of high quality polarized lenses & flip second pair at a 90 degree angle. If both lenses are of high quality, there will be a complete block of light.  This is where Glare Guard can help out. If you do not want to pay too much for a high quality pair of polarized sunglasses you should look into Glare Guards Polarized Car Sun Visors.

Because we manufacture the polarized film in house we are able to make our car visors for a very affordable price.   If you have a good pair of sunglasses and you find that you are still being bothered by glare our car sun visors are a perfect extra layer of protection from the sun and your eyes. Driving with Sun Glare has never been easier.
