Driving in Sun Glare

Driving in Sun Glare

Are You Constantly Driving In Sun Glare?

What are the issues with driving into the sun glare?

Here are a few stats brought to you by the Spada Law Group.

One recent study has shown that serious car accidents increase by 16% when it’s very sunny and glare is present. Another study has shown that as many as 9000 accidents relating to sun glare occur each year! That’s more than caused by icy roads.

If personal experience hasn’t proved to show sun glare is a very serious issue on the road, those stats should speak for themselves. Driving in sun glare is a common issue for many americans and others throughout the world. Sun glare tends to be strongest at the most inconvenient times. What are these times? What are we doing at these times?

COMMUTING!

Millions of americans are driving their own cars to and from work. In fact, 86% of americans use their own car to go to and from work. With this many people on the road, there is already a greater risk of an accident occurring.

So what can we do?

We cannot really control everything while behind the wheel and no matter what you do, there is always some risk. The sad truth is that there is a lot that is out of our control. What WE CAN do is to bring our risk of accident down as much as possible.

That includes:

What Will Polarized Lenses Do For Me?

  • Drastically reduce glare from objects on the road such as cars, buildings & signs
  • If a UV inhibitor is in the polarizer, it will protect your eyes from UVA & UVB rays
  • Good lenses will also improve the contrast to help you see more clearly
