Sun glare? You’ve seen the ads. Products such as HD Vision Visor, TacVisor and Battle Visor are just a few brands that promise to deliver relief from sun glare. You’ve probably caught their ads on tv. But how do you decide which is best? Many brands have the same outcome–adding color to a visor without the polarization, which is the most important aspect.
There is a brown visor extender with a sun spot blocker feature, which is nice for driving toward the sun. The problem you will find is that is that inexpensive plastic with a poorly designed bracket system easily wears with time. While simple to install, it lacks a polarizing film to actually reduce the glare. It is basically just tinting the light you see right in front of you and not blocking out harmful UVA/UVB rays–much as you see with sunglasses.
Glare-Guard visor extenders are fully polarized, made in the US, and block out 100% of UVA/UVB rays, letting you see clearly without squinting. There is a gray visor for daytime driving and a yellow visor for night time driving. Both work to block glare from the elements such as sun or headlight glare and are sturdily manufactured to last for years to come.

TacVisor by Bell & Howell
TacVisor is the only polarized car visor outside of Glare Guard but falls short in a few ways. Again, the bracket system like the others is very weak and tends to wear out very quickly. Another issue, that appears to be the most troubling is that once the screen is cleaned it tends to develop a bad reflection, which can cause a big problem and can be very distracting to a driver. TacVisor has done a great job or promoting their product and getting awareness out there so many people know their are products out there to help with sun glare on the road.
