You walk into a store and see a pair of sunglasses you really like. The label says polarized but you want to make sure. You may or may not get a knowledgeable salesperson. So if you want to make sure, there is a test you can do yourself.
Criss Cross Polarizer Test
If you already have a pair of glasses that you know are polarized there is a simple test to see if another pair is also. Make sure you have your other pair of glasses with you and place the lens of your sunglasses at a 90-degree angle to the lens of those at the store. If the combined lenses turn dark or nearly black those glasses are also polarized! The value of polarized sunglasses is clear—they are best at blocking nearly 100% of the glare that causes a multitude of problems. Luckily, at Glare Guard we are one of four manufacturers in the world for polarized film making it accessible for polarized sunglasses and polarized visor extenders.
